COMPONENT TYPES

Custom brass pin component examples

One supplied brass pin case is shown as a custom project example. Other component types are produced to the approved drawing, mating requirement and finish specification.

Drawing-based brass pin components

Custom geometry, finish and secondary machining planned around the part’s mating condition and final assembly.

CUSTOM PROJECT EXAMPLE

Terminal pins

Brass terminal parts for controlled fit and surface treatment.

DRAWING-BASED

Contact-related parts

Function is confirmed from the project requirement.

PROJECT-SPECIFIC

Relay pins

Compact precision components for repeat assembly.

ASSEMBLY FIT

Connector components

Developed from mating geometry and tolerance input.

COMPONENT ROUTE

MANUFACTURING ROUTE

Cold headed fastener process and secondary machining

For custom cold headed fasteners and brass pin components, we select the route by required geometry, tolerance and surface finish. Turning or grinding is added only for features cold heading cannot achieve.

01Wire drawingPrepare the approved material for stable forming.
02Cold headingCreate the base form efficiently.
03Turning and machiningComplete geometry and part-specific features.
04Cleaning and finishPrepare the component for treatment.
05CCD checksConfirm dimensions before and after treatment.

CAPABILITY GUIDE

Dimensions and RFQ requirements

Provide controlled dimensions, mating condition and surface target with the drawing. Final capability is confirmed after process review.

Product diameter0.4-25 mm, reviewed by part geometry and processing route.
Typical product tolerance±0.02 mm. Tighter tolerances are subject to drawing and process review.
Secondary operationsTurning, machining, grinding or other steps can be added for tighter control or different surface requirements.
Finish optionsElectroplating and PVD can be considered where compatible with the approved material and application.
Recommended RFQ inputDrawing or sample, quantity, material, finish, critical dimensions, tolerance, application and required tests.

QUALITY CONTROL

Inspection and quality checks

Checks can cover routine dimensions, surface roughness, color variation and visible defects, with additional functional testing selected when the approved project requires it.

FAQ

Cold-headed brass pin FAQ

These questions cover common drawing, material, process and inspection topics before an RFQ.

Can you manufacture brass pins from a drawing or sample?

Yes. Send the drawing, sample photo or mating-part information. We review dimensions, function, tolerance, material and finish before confirming the route.

What is cold heading in custom pin manufacturing?

Cold heading forms the base geometry from wire by pressure. Turning, machining, grinding or finishing can follow when the approved drawing requires features, tolerances or surface conditions that forming alone cannot achieve.

Are brass pins only for electrical contact applications?

No. Depending on the component design, pins can provide location, retention, connection or an application-specific contact function.

What materials and finishes can be reviewed?

H62, H65, H68 and H70 brass are common. Copper, bronze and other requested materials can be reviewed. Nickel, tin, silver, gold plating and PVD are considered where suitable.

Can you support tighter tolerances or smoother surfaces?

Yes. Turning, machining, grinding or other secondary operations can be evaluated when the approved drawing calls for tighter control or a different surface condition.

What information should be included in an RFQ?

Please include a drawing or sample, quantity, application, material or finish preference, critical dimensions, tolerance requirements and any required tests.
